Patient Advocacy

At You Matter Patient Advocacy Group, patient advocacy and care navigation are at the heart of our mission to support individuals affected by MASLD, MASH, NASH, and fatty liver disease. Navigating the healthcare system while managing liver disease—especially when it overlaps with metabolic conditions, mental health needs, or limited access to specialty care—can be overwhelming. Our role is to help patients and families move through these systems with clarity, support, and confidence.

We work alongside patients as trusted advocates, helping them understand their diagnosis, risk factors, treatment options, and the next steps in their care. Our services include care coordination, provider communication, appointment preparation, referrals to liver specialists and supportive resources, and ongoing follow-up to ensure individuals do not feel alone in managing their liver health.

Our approach is patient-centered and grounded in dignity, respect, and compassion. We believe individuals living with MASLD and MASH are experts in their own experiences, and our work focuses on strengthening their voices while helping bridge gaps between patients, caregivers, and healthcare providers.

Through advocacy and care navigation, we aim to reduce confusion, improve communication, and empower individuals to make informed decisions about their liver health, while also helping remove barriers to early diagnosis, treatment, and long-term care.
